February Monthly Wishes

Keeping on track with my 2014 resolution of setting goals each month and melding it with the Weekly Wishes linkups over @ The Nectar Collective, we have February's installment of Monthly Wishes.

Last Month's Wishes
1. Workout 3 times/week - This went well over all. Some weeks I did more, some less. I think it averaged out for the month though.
2. Eat out only once/week - This was great until the last week of the month. Matt got a new job so we got lazy we may have celebrated a bit more than planned.
3. Post 3 times/week. This was great for the first two weeks. Then because of poor planning it fell to the wayside.

February's Wishes
1. Rolling over #3 from last month. I have planned it a little bit better this month so here's hoping more success!
2. Practice yoga 3 times a week. This can be either at the studio or at home. Doesn't matter. I'm just a much happier person when I practice yoga regularly. Therefore I will be committing to this plus some regular work outs throughout the weeks too.
3. Spend more time reading. I tend to go through on again, off again phases with reading. I'll get addicted to books for a few months and then get bored and move on to something else. I read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and the Hollow City follow up this month for book club and I'm now craving more books. Have any recommendations?

What are you focusing on accomplishing this month? If you would like to share it with us link up to The Nectar Collective below.

  1. A new job is a good reason for extra food-related celebrations! Congrats on achieving your goals :) How was "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children"? I've seen it around, but it looked really creepy!

  4. Thanks chickie! The book is great! It's not nearly creepy as it looks, promise. I had to go out right after I finished to get the second book right away. And there HAS to be a third coming out. Let me know what you think if you decide to pick it up!

  5. Thanks! It's always tough to start the habits, easy to maintain them. It's just about taking that first step :)

  6. I saw that in the book store last night actually! It looks pretty good. I'll have to pick it up sometime soon. Thanks for the suggestion :)

  8. Loving how simple these goals are but at the same time hard! Creating clear-cit goals is sometimes the best way to achieve them. Good luck!

  9. I try to post 3/wk as well, but I have to really stay on top of it to get those 3 posts out. And I jumped the gun thinking I can workout every morning! haha It might have to be 3/wk too. My boyfriend & I calculated how much we spent eating out and ordering food for the whole 2013 year. It was $7,200 - CRAZY right?!?! Well good luck with your week :)

  10. January went better than expected for resolutions, except I had planned to eliminate beer from my diet completely for the month and then a new brewery popped into my life. February I would like to up my running from 25k a week to 30k a week, and fit in another 14 car free days this month (we set an overall goal of 115 for the year). Congrats on your January achievements, and good luck this month!!

  11. Ohh, I didn't know it was a series! It does sound intriguing. It might make it's way into my next book depository buy! I'll let you know :)

  12. Thank you! I like to keep it simple so that I can stay focused. I might get distracted easily... lol

  13. I have realized that the hard way. I think I will dedicate an afternoon on the weekends to getting the bulk of my post work done. That way I can just put the finishing touches on them during the week. Working out 3/wk is a fantastic place to start. Then add a workout in here of there if you've splurged more than normal that week ;) And I know!! I did the same for a couple of months and am embarrassed to post the total. It really is scary how fast it adds up!

  14. I'm glad they went well for you! Maybe I'll try cutting out wine next month. How long are your runs normally? I'm thinking of getting back into running once it starts to warm up here (currently -10C and just got 25cm of snow.. brr!) And thanks :)
